It is very obvious that this woman is very upset. This has happened to me and it is a sinking feeling. Most of the time the burglar never is caught. If it is a person under 18, the homeowner has a difficult time finding out any information about the person. Home video systems are becoming cheaper to install and they are good to have. They will give a "face" for the police to look for. Motion detection alarms are helpful also. An in-home safe (a very heavy one) is also good for valuables. I understand this woman’s anger and frustration. It's important to secure your home and property as there are those who care little about the sentiment you place on your property. I hope the police find your burglar so you can get back the wedding ring your husband gave you. My feeling is it will only get worse before it get’s better and until the price of the crime becomes greater than the take, burglaries will continue to occur.

Yes if a person is proven guilty they should be punished. However we as a society need to remember that the law in this country states that a person is innocent until PROVEN guilty. Just because a police officer makes an arrest,it doesn't mean that a person is guilty. It only means that there was grounds for reasonable suspision of an unlawful act. There are plenty of innocent people being accused of and punished for crimes they have not committed. I am not insensitve to the victims of these burglars, for I too, have had my home burglared, however it is unfair of our police force to make hasty arrests and to file false police reports with biased opinions. Such as the case of a young man I have come to know very well. Thank you.JESUS LOVES
